This thread looks like the Gary Ashton and Kenneth Weiss show. You two seem to be the only participants (except for poor Carl Morgan who apparently posted to the wrong group or something). I have been toying with investing in Barnes Group since last year, but still have not got around to doing it. The stock seems high now, however, since they just increased their dividend, management obviously has a great deal of faith in the future performance of the company.

I worked for Barnes in a summer job back between my freshman and sophomore years of college (summer 1973) in their Associated Spring Raymonds Division in my hometown of Corry, PA. My late father worked for them for 33 years, retiring in 1982. My mother worked in the office at the plant for a few years before I was born, and an aunt of mine retired from the plant after over 35 years of service. An uncle worked in their Merchandise Division for over 20 years as a salesman, and a cousin worked there for about 8 years. In addition, I have a brother-in-law who has worked at the Raymonds plant since the early 1970s. It is nice to see the company doing so well since my family has toiled there for well over 100 years of cumulative service.

According to my brother-in-law, there is so much work that he is encouraged to put in all the overtime he can stand. If he didn't have to sleep, eat, play golf, and be with his wife and two boys, he could work 24 hours a day and keep raking in the overtime pay. That sounds like a booming business to me!

Just thought I'd pipe in with my 2-cents worth and give you and Kenneth someone else to direct your posts towards. I hope to be a shareholder soon.
