Hi Bruce, There's a weekly screen in Value Line of the highest yielding stocks also. It makes for some interesting reading. Some are there because the stock price is currently depressed (usually for a good reason!). Some are just traditional high yielding stocks. It always gives me something to think about. If the yield is relatively secure, then it would be tempting to follow thoughts similar to the Dogs of the DOW theory.

I wonder if we took that list from a year ago and picked some big yields and held them for a year (or 18 months, now) what we'd have. Instead of the field of just 30 stocks in the DOW, we'd have all of Value Line.
