A Question:

What company has the lowest manufacturing costs for PCs? I'm being told it is Compaq not Dell. Furthermore, Compaq is continuously reorganizing and becoming more efficient. Check the latest earnings for details.

If a price War does occur companies like COmpaq and Dell will survive and eventually thrive. I don't know about Dell, but doesn't COmpaq already sell PC's for dirt cheap (under $1,000)? Can't go much lower than this. I think Compaq (and now HWP) will see mucho dinero come fall with at these prices. Just imagine if Compaq decides to start selling direct.

A short-term correction in both Dell and Compaq is almost a given. Hopefully, I'l be out by then.

-Edward (I own both Dell and CPQ)
