<<I think those numbers say all that needs to be said.>>

<<"I know what you did last summer" (1997)
US gross: $74.7 million
Foreign: $35.0 million

"I still know what you did last summer" (1998)
US gross: $35 million
Foreign: $35 million>>

The numbers support what I said and what I am about to say:

The teenagers went to the first movie to see the sexy actors and actresses. Even the wonder bra, skin tight clothes, and wet T-shirt could not bring them all back to see the same old tired story. Yes, the second movie did do better than US2 ever could hope for, but it was because the black audience wanted to see Brandy/Moisha.

MVEE's version of Ransom would be a lot more successful if they just did not use the word Ransom in the movie title or trailer. Everybody has seen enough ransom movies and if you tell them it is a ransom movie with a family twist its going to be as predictable as the movie "Double Jeopardy."

They should call it something like "Never Going Back" and in the trailer just show the kids being held and trying to excape. They should not let the audience know that this is another "ransom" movie. Just get some good actors/actresses that look really good like Jessica Alba.
