>>>>I wonder how many Americans today realize that Arlington National Cemetery was Lee's pre-war home<<<<

Years ago, the home at Arlington was called Lee's Mansion. Then there was a change in name to Arlington House. I think these names are used interchangeably now. However, I still prefer to call it Lee's Mansion in honor of the general.

One thing that was not changed was the location of the house. It has a beautiful view of Washington City. Perhaps, the general had the last laugh. The Lincoln Memorial is directly before Lee's Mansion. If the general chooses to return to his home for a brief haunt, he will realize that he is looking down on Mr. Lincoln's memorial.
