Tom, TRMB looks ok like it's trading midway between high-low; balance sheet & earnings could look better. I was also looking for quality
GPS play partly as a result of your discussion. It looks like last
Monday May 13 Rupert Murdoch of News Corp. sold his ETAK company to
SANYO for undisclosed sum. ETAK of Menlo Park is a premier provider
of software systems for GPS systems. I think they were very active
in mapping major cities in the U.S. Too bad they aren't still a public standalone co, but I imagine that type of mapping & development requires somewhat extensive funding.
Separately I found out that MOTorola gave a complete licence for BELL
Industries to market their VP ONCORE credit card sized receiver for
8 channel GPS reception. It looks like BELL will give a 5% stock dividend to holders on May 24 and have given similar over the past
2 years.
I'll take a look at the other two cos. mentioned in this string. I wish I could find a very good pure play on this technology, but I am
not sure that the biggies haven't already gobbled up the major players. Looks like this was the week for announcements but I'm not sure when this technology will take on critical mass or momentum.
