In light of the March announcement by the US government that civilian access to more-precise GPS information will be permitted, I am researching companies which manufacture GPS-related products. (Things such as hand-held receivers, GPS chipsets, and mapping software.) Because of the history of GPS, many companies are large, diversified Defense companies (such as Rockwell) and a change in the economy and marketing of GPS products will only be a blip on such balance sheets. There has been reference to a private company named "Ashtech" which intends to design and market a GPS chipset for embedding in other companies' products. Ashtech supposedly will be an IPO later this year (it may undergo a name change since there already is a publicly held Ashtech in Ohio which processes ash). Where might I find information on Ashtech's IPO? I did see a site called "IPO Data Systems" but they are a fee-based service... Lonnie. PS: Trimble is another player but I'm not happy with their fundamentals. | ||||||||||||
