Eve,

Calling Ashtech is an excellent idea; I'm suffering
from too much technology and had forgotten such a simple device
as the phone and the Investors' Relation department.

As for your two proposals (MAPS and ANLT) I have no
input. They are unknown to me. Maybe I shall get to know them.

Concerning ANLT and its acquisition, and any other
companies involved in acquisitions, I also wonder how well the
acquired company was doing before the purchase. If the company
was a star before being purchased then I feel comfortable. But
if the acquired company was having trouble paying salaries then
I look at Current Assets and intangibles (such a Brain capital)
and compare that with the purchase price. A too-highly inflated
price for a suffering company with little "book" value makes me
wonder about the wisdom of the purchasing company's management.

I also wonder about how well the corporate cultures of
the two companies will meld. Unfortunately, often, they don't.
Read about the Novell purchase of WordPerfect for a fine example
of a destructive merger.

The capitalization of ANLT does seem low; I don't like
getting stuck with stocks with no market. Usually I find I've
had to sell at a loss to get out. Now I try to stay away in the
first place...

Good luck,
Lonnie.
