John, re the rest of your questions

>>Tom, you probably know that TS 5 will have support for realtime DTN and internet feeds<<

I was aware of that--but thanks for mentioning it

>>how many is your normal trade?

For day trading, I am starting out with moderate positions; A full position is 6 contracts -- so when I mention a half position it is obviously 3 contracts; this morning although I did not mention it -- I traded half a position. If this day trading exercise works out well and I do it on an ongoing basis, I'll probably day trade 10-12 contracts at a time.

>>You have mentioned before a lot of times the trade initially goes your way but you get stopped out at times. Have you ever tested if you took part of the position off at an initial profit before it hit your target and let the other ride?<<

Good questions!!

I have tested many variations in terms of exits but basically I have found that over a 10-12 year period of testing and simulations, what I am doing now is what works best over an extended period of time. I don't feel able to change a system based on what is best for now because markets do change and one hopes that over a 10 year period one experiences varying markets and that the system that one uses is stable because it works over a length of time. But nonetheless, I keep testing for better approaches. Recently someone clued me in on something that I am looking at as an alternative exit strategy.

Hope this helps
