Hi Dave, AIM usually doesn't even miss a beat. I've been able to go into Newport and bring up the stock in question, it's Maintenance window and just change the ticker and name. All's well after that. This should work with any of the spreadsheet templates as well. AIM only cares about our own investment base, so there's really no other change to be made. However, if we end up with a different number of total shares and a different price/share, again just report this to AIM/Newport and all should be happy again.

The harder ones are when a company splits off a major division as a new company. The Portfolio Control of the remaining company needs to be reduced by the value of the spin-off, then everything works okay. However, you have to figure out your original cost base for the "new" stock. I've usually entered the new stock at its original cost base for the first week's data. Then the following week, I change Portfolio Control to account for current market value of the new shares. Then AIM's content to manage the account.

Best regards, Tom
PS: Watch for me on TV! I'm going to Elkhart Lake, WI to watch the CART Indycars this afternoon. I'll be sitting at Canada Corner. Look for the guy with two bratwursts and a sixpack of Point Beer wearing the AIM hat!!!
