I had this idea 5 months ago after following 2 stocks that resorted to Reg S financing--SOLV and TTRIF. It has hurt them both, and I think SOLV just did another one. The info is available on Edgar under 8K filings, Section 9. There are on average 100+ of 8K filings daily and you have to look at each one to check Section 9. Someone else and I split the chore on a daily basis (takes at least an hour apiece) and for Jan thru Mar didn't find any that were shortable (found many that were in the $2-3 range, so not shortable). Finally gave it up as too labor intensive without reward. I agree that any company that has to resort to Reg S financing is a cash-strapped desperate company--some make it, most dont.
