It's great to think your idea is so spectacular that everyone is going to clamor for your better mousetrap.

The reality is, in my experience, that doesn't happen.

I guess you need to evaluate your objectives.

Are you interested in them using your services? I wouldn't think that's very likely as these are huge orgs and aren't likely to place themselves in a dependency relationship on a small org.

Are you interested in them incorporating your ideas into their marketing efforts? Without protection, kiss your ideas good bye!

Are you interested in a Strategic Partnership? Probably not going to happen without some iron clad legal protection on your proprietary ideas.

I don't mean to be negative ... but legal protection is for you and for them. They don't need to invite litigation by ripping you off. Quite possibly they have something in the mill that's similar and as soon as you disclose anything to them, the concern is you'll yell RAPE!

In any event ... sounds to me like you need to be contacting the VP of Sales and/or the Business Development/Strategic Partnership Management. If you can write a letter with enough sizzle without revealing the gist of your idea ... you might be able to get them to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

If you don't have one, write me and I'll send you one. The simpler the better ... they won't sign off on a phone book NDA.
