Well, two things, ncs. No, it is not a crime to lie unless under oath. But in watching the news this past week, I was surprised at how big a deal it seems to be for most Americans that he lied on that 60 Minutes segment where he was sitting there with Hillary and he said, no he did not, when he was asked about a twelve year affair with Flowers, and now apparently what he means is that yes, he did have an affair but it was not exactly twelve years. I think the sentiment among many Americans is that they have absolutely had it with hair-splitting, obtuse statements from Clinton, and want the ACTUAL truth instead. So that it hurting his credibility going into this weekend.
The second point is that it is irrelevant, speaking of felony charges, that he was not under oath when he lied about Flowers if he WAS under oath and lied about the affair with Monica, and so far it looks as if he might have done that, if we are to believe all the sources who say he stated in his Paula Jones deposition that he did not have a sexual relationship with Monica.
I guess we will know when they analyze the DNA on that navy-blue dress!! |
