With high end smartphones demanding compatibility with the next 5G standard, being expected for use in V 90-120 days, I'd say we are in the tail end of a transition period.

Any smart phone maker wants their HIGH end inventory to be zero when 5G becomes available.

Both T and VZ have 5 cities as beta's. VZ has announced an additional deployment in 30 more cities for the H2 of this year. They require an unlimited plan a $10.00 monthly surcharge for 5G.

Cohu has indicated for 2 quarters that mobility is off in production.

Automotive and industrial have held their own.

Internet of things was also slower. IoT definitely requires 5G roll out.

I'd say we have been in a transitionary time period. The ramp up into full implementation is at hand as I type. Granted just the beginnings, but the smaller 5G cells are more than likely into a big demand ramp right now.

My bet is the Canary in the semi fab will only songs for just a few months.

We may be out of the lull already.
