Hi Bernie, There's a REIT with the symbol CDC that's currently priced at about $18 and paying about 9.3% in my account. Again, not bad income but the stock's price is currently depressed. High yielding securities many times have this Good News/Bad News personality. For AIM, this isn't necessarily bad.

When AIM's begging us to add shares to one of these accounts, it's usually when the yield is quite high (in relative terms). It's usually when interest rate hike fears are around that these issues fall in share price. Just the opposite is generally true when rates are dropping. It's rare that I buy or sell 10% of the total position through a full interest rate cycle. So, AIM's not necessary for holding these things, just adds a bit of interest to the activity.

Best regards, Tom
