Thanks. I learned to use chainsaws and tractors in the 60s at our family "ranch" that is still owned by my brothers and many, many dozens of cousins. If you wanted to use the (old Fergie) tractor you'd bring up some gas to replace what was used and it never had trouble starting. The last time I used it was about 24 years ago to pull my van out of trouble when it could not make it up the road into the property. It eventually burned up in a CA wildfire. Life was sure simpler back then!

The other thing this discussion tells me is why so many love electric cars... I've already proven to myself that using electric tools is better on my ears and lungs and pocketbook! I still need an ICE to run those tools when the grid goes down... but my guess is I could get solar and batteries someday but for the trees shade my land too much in the winter...

Oh... and it was my brother who lives in Napa near the family land who owns "our share" now and he gave me the great advice on the Honda generator. They have one to backup their solar panels but decided to buy more batteries than get a second Honda.
