If this gets over with fairly quickly, why would you think the public would remember any longer than they have about anything. Remember how popular Bush was before the elections?

Of course if the Dems go around the country at election time running commercials that if you vote Repub. your church may burn, etc.etc. then all bets are off.

And then there is always the folks like the lady just on CSPAN that said "So what if he lied"

The world goes round I suppose.
