Silicon Valley companies in navigation market Here are some Silicon Valley players in the expanding auto-navigation industry: _Etak: Menlo Park company makes maps for Sony's Mobile Navigation System. Also works with General Motors and Motorola. _Navigation Technologies: Provides digital mapping data for the Amerigon navigation system that's sold by audio companies like Kenwood. Also in Sunnyvale. _Trimble: Sunnyvale company provides GPS technology for the CARiN navigation in BMW's European 7-Series and for Xanavi, a joint-venture of Hitachi and Nissan in Japan. _Zexel: Developed software and licensed it to Rockwell for the PathMaster navigation system that's also in use by Oldsmobile, Hertz, Avis and National.
