so a 75% down market would be a massive margin call? Naw... probably still peanuts.

I wonder if Musk is allowed to sell puts to protect himself or pay off the margin debt should the price fall...

I remember I thought about timing the market by getting back into tech in 2001 to get a boatload of stock options. The company I thought of going to offered me loads of options and they said I was free to continue writing my newsletter AND trading stock, even theirs, as I saw fit... I didn't go back and they eventually got hammered for all sorts of stuff related to options and other questionable things. Red flag for me was they didn't have issues with me trading company shares but I guess HP let us do it too if we didn't report to the CEO or have insider knowledge.

Anyway... some things have sure change but the smart ones still figure out how to get around the rules it seems.
