Hi Scott and Welcome!, I know how hard it is to part with a buck...as I come from a long line of cheapskates! Glad you joined the fun. You will be able to "bookmark" your favorite subjects here in SI and they'll let you know when there's new postings to those subjects. Also one of my favorite places is the "Laughter is the Best Medicine" thread on the "Coffee Shop" topic. Plenty of new and old material there!

After you learn to "filter" the info on the stock threads, they can be quite valuable. There's some fluff and some "personal agenda" types on the various threads, but if there's news, there's almost an immediate post by someone!

Of course here on the AIM thread there's never any fluff! Some bad puns now and again and some calls for patronizing complements (from me!) but everything is always politically correct and socially responsible and nothing so blatant as as harsh word is ever typed!

Everyone, Scott's been a good friend of mine almost since the first day I moved to Wisconsin. Mutual friends introduced us at a party on a tributary of the Milwaukee river nearly a quarter of a century ago! We have periodically had meetings of our own "philosopher's club" in one of the back yards, usually around a campfire and usually involving a bit of liver damage. Luckily for the World, we've managed to solve most of its problems. We'll be publishing our collective works in the near future!

Scott, SI will check your spelling for you, but won't offer any advice as to how to correct it! Use the "Preview" option when composing your message. (Confession... I usually keep my WordPerfect spell checker open when I'm writing. It gets a lot of use!!)

Best regards and again welcome to the free-for-all!
Tom
