I was living near Philly when Pete played for the Phillies. He was remarkable. He could get on base every time he was at bat, or so it seemed. He honestly Loved baseball, and it showed. He really tried his hardest to play the best game that he could every time he entered the stadium.
Okay, they punished him for gambling. He never bet against his team, but his punishment was way to severe for his "Crime".

I was appalled that the announcer would attack Pete at the game. It was not his job to belittle a great baseball player, in one of his proudest moments. I sent the following E-Mail to NBC, and then posted it on the CNBC Critique thread.
