I learned yesterday how to make a better mask from a friend, which would make a nice improvement to this combination. For those who can sew, make a two-layer mask. The inside layer, touching your face, would be flannel. The outside layer is cotton. These are easily obtained materials, and the combination is claimed to be almost as good as a medical-quality face mask.

Since flannel is so good at grabbing moisture I think this is actually a good combination. If you've ever spilled on flannel you know what I mean.
