To say something that doesn’t conform to the cultural/social norms of a subgroup is automatically racist is illogical, it is different but that doesn’t make it racist.

Since when should society be expected to “adopt” the norms of a subgroup without a logical debate about the merits of issue at hand.

The term racist is a negative term which implies many things. Bing defines racisim as “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.”

Many of the “things” that are labled as racist in social media don’t meet the definition of “racist”, furthermore some of those “things” are considered “societal advancements” and have been considered as beneficial to society as a whole.

To simplify the argument, lets say we have a 1 year old child who communicates with his parents using baby talk. For the benefit of the child should we require all adults to communicate with the child using “baby talk”, or should we allow nature to take its course and allow adults to use normal language around the child.

This analysis could be appled to the flawed BLM movement as well.

Frankly I'm afraid that our country is going backwards as the issues young folk are marching for are not benifical to a free and democratic society
