Where is this West that you have as a separated entity?
The predominantly non-muslim countries, primarily represented by the US, South America, and Europe. Asia is it's own category and only in the Philipines, Western China, Indonesia, and Thailand do we see particularly active militant muslim movements.
And btw, as Kumar has aptly pointed out, Pakistan represents a particularly vexing problem. With 70+ million Pakistanis aligning themselves with fundamentalist Islam, and apparently on the cusp of supporting the overthrow of secular rule there, we could see that country become a serious threat to the rest of the world, and especially India.
