Betty, It should make absolutely no difference whether a poster is male or female and only the contents and thoughts expressed in a post should matter. However, studies have shown that reactions and responses will differ, depending upon whether the poster is thought to be a male or a female. These studies are widely recognized as valid by the geeks and wonks among us, and that is why you see so many gender/sex-neutral aliases or handles. Interesting, really. Take a look at your cybercronies who have switched from using their real names to gender/sex-neutral names and see if you don't find the before and after responses to their posts to be at variance in how they are perceived. We all had hoped that Internet communication would prove to be the great leveler. Maybe it still can be. Holly
