"As Chairman of the Housing Committee for the Government of Belize, I am strongly recommending your paneling system homes to meet our housing needs throughout the country of Belize. #reply-10044279

By the way this is written, I would think there would be some follow up. Or did he just say he was going to recommend the paneling system [note here, not the subdivision but the paneling system which is credit to Force 10, who is in no way affiliated with PABN] to be polite as he really had nothing more to say?
"

Mr. Montejo: "I am strongly recommending your paneling system homes to meet our housing needs throughout the country of Belize." He is recommending "your paneling system homes" not some "paneling system."

That looks like a strong recommendation to me. Having said, "I am strongly recommending..." Mr. Montejo has no need to say it again and again. No one is hiding the manufacturer of the homes. Mr. Montejo is properly recognizing who wants to bring them to Belize, Affordable Housing Group. If you have difficulty comprehending that, just read to whom the letter is addressed. It's right there near the top of the letter. Below who it is from.

"...that post by William Hayden [nice that you provided the identity of this mystery person]."

The identity of Mr. Hayden has been no mystery to anyone who has done even the most cursory research on information available about this company or read this thread, or who has checked out the link I gave. He does not post often because he is very busy (we live within easy driving distance of each other and have spoken on the phone). However, my comments here are based only on his posts to this thread and the content of his web sites.

"He offered no assessment as you claimed, #reply-10042136." The assessment I refer to is found in the entire body of Mr. Hayden's posts to this thread over the past year. I guess assuming you were familiar with this thread and those who have posted here and what has been said by those who might know what they are talking about concerning this subject was an unwarranted assumption on my part. Silly me.

"Pretty weak endorsement for the way you carried on to marcos. A poster who is also very familiar with the area and housing desires."

marcos has said at least three times in as many posts (two of which are dated yesterday) that he is not familiar with Belize, except by the reputation it has with workers located 200 miles (or was it klicks?) west of Belize, in another country. I take his word concerning his ignorance of the country over your claim of his expertise any day. I'll take the comments of an official of the government of Belize, Mr. Montejo, over your comments or marcos' comments any day. I'll take the assessments of a citizen of the country who lives there part of every year, Mr. Hayden, over your opinions or marcos' opinions any day.

I am not going to debate housing, construction practices or needs in Canada or Guatemala or Belize for three reasons: (1) Canada and Guatemala have nothing to do with the topic of this thread (and in my opinion bringing them into the discussion is an unnecessary distraction); (2) I'm not qualified to debate construction practices or needs and (3) those who want to debate it with me have either stated (marcos) or demonstrated (you) their ignorance of what they purport to want to debate -- housing in Belize.

That's why I have deferred to those with some ability to speak authoritatively: The Chairman of the the Housing Committee for the Government of Belize on the quality of the housing being sold by AHG in Belize, and Mr. Hayden on many things concerning the country and conditions there. If you want to discuss, debate or argue with Mr. Montejo about what he said, you have his address in your very own post. Also, if you don't like what Mr. Hayden has said here or on his web sites, then take it up with him.

I have explained to you whose opinions I choose to accept and why. I have directed you to the sources on which my opinions are based. I have explained to you that I cannot speak for my sources. I have explained to you that any further questions you have about their comments should be directed to them.

I think that just about covers it.
