RFH's post reminded me of a question I had a while back.
From some old posts:

When the program asks you for the date just give it the date for Sunday night. It will then tell you your prices are not up to date, and you can continue from there.

I double click on the time in the lower right hand corner of my computer screen, and just change the date to Sunday. Then I start Newport, and it thinks it's Sunday, so it asks me to update the prices. Then, I have to remember to change back to the correct date when I'm done.

Is Newport Y2K compliant? Does it care about the calendar date or just the day of the week? Since AIM is price driven, why should the date come into play anyway other than for recording when trades were made?

Just curious. We are addressing this issue while looking for data-feed providers. Also, anyone using charting software may want to start asking these questions. The Quotes Plus I have been using has used a date format like 06131999 ever since I started using it, however I have seen concerns expressed over some of the other charting packages.

Less than 6 months to go until Y2K. I am curious as to everyone's opinion on the impact. You read so much, it's hard to decide what to think.

Regards,
D1
