MSI, how's that for a content-full post?? Here is my $.01 worth that might provide a little bit of context for the issue. My understanding is that Priceline has been granted two patents and has filed for 18 others. CEO Walker believes that as the Internet revolutionizes commerce, business processes can be patented in the Information Age just as industrial processes were patented during the Industrial Revolution. Here is an interesting post that discusses the impact of probable litigation on Priceline's business. He may have addressed patent issues in earlier posts on the pcln thread. And it would certainly be worth your while to ask him questions similar to those you have been astute enough to ask Rob S. On the same thread this weekend, I also posted a link to an interesting Forbes article which focuses on Priceline CEO Walker as boy wonder, but which also touches on the patent issue. Good luck.
