Well, that is exactly the problem with buying and turning a mini....either from the long or the short side. Unless you are long from a significant bottom, the margin requirements will eat up your profits over the years in the way the SPY would not. You would have to put in more capital than the orginal $10K. It would be an interesting exercise to do all the math, but the key would be buying one at a significant bottom.....something that is not all that easy. I had thought I had heard most things....but still short from 970? Seems insane........
