Accommodations Update (22-JN-99)

I talked to Ms. Karen Goodgame, who is handling the reservations at the Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites. She requested that I advise everyone that the blocked reservations I had made for our group will expire this week, and any unreserved rooms will be turned back to the general reservations desk. So, if you have not yet made your reservations, you need to do so ASAP in order to be assured of rooms.

I have blocked rooms at the Hampton Inn (Austin-South) and the Homewood Suites Hotel (Austin South) located at IH-35 and Highway 71 (Ben White Boulevard). These are co-owned, adjacent properties. I believe that this arrangement will offer everyone an appropriate comfort level at a reasonable cost. I decided to move the location because it will be
a) much closer to the downtown activities;
b) much closer to the new airport, scheduled to open 1-MY-99; and
c) we get a larger selection of accommodations, and they are as nice as anything else we looked at.
