I also heard on CNBC that DCLK's contract with AltaVista expires in 2002...hence there's still a lot of time for DCLK to shift revenue sources to other companies. As that article regarding online advertising (I forget the message number) stipulates, online advertising is just an infant industry right now. As more companies become aware of the need to be on the Internet, the ad revenues will grow exponentially. DCLK is the leader in its field, I don't think its competitors have much of a chance to compete. CMGI won't be so stupid as to sever ties right now. Also, critical mass is needed for any internet company to make an impact in its industry, and DCLK is the closest to achieving that. Why would a customer go with some small start-up with no track history? Just like in the real world, and rightfully so in the cyber world, the companies who want to make the biggest bang go for the top ad companies.
