GET the Facts straight!.....DoubleClick revenue should continue to diversify, according to Executive
Vice President Jeff Esptein. Revenue from AltaVista in the first quarter
represented 13% of total revenue when adjusted to include Abacus Direct, he
said.
Epstein said he expects the acquisition of the market research company to
close in September. "I wouldn't be suprised if people misunderstood the nature
of the agreement," he said. He confirmed that DoubleClick's contract with
AltaVista is binding for at least the next three years.
Epstein also noted the use of DoubleClick's DART technology keeps growing.
DART, which allows advertisers to target audiences, represented 23% of revenue
and 48% of gross profit for the first quarter.
The number of ads transmitted by DART has doubled every six months, said
Epstein.
