ALYA Training 24 Technicians to Install and Maintain 300 Buildings for the Puerto Rico Telephone Company

Austin, TX - June 28, 1999 – ALYA has begun training 24 technicians from the "Puerto Rico Telephone Company ("PRTC") to install and maintain a complete, state-of-the-art, contactless security control solution" based upon ALYA's O.P.E.N.centrixÔ (Open Platform for Essential Networks).

The system will provide Access Control to about 300 buildings and 11,000 employees in Puerto Rico. ALYA provides the data acquisition hardware and firmware, as well as sophisticated communication software and the Graphical User Interfaces for multiple workstations.

"Over a three-week period, ALYA will be training 24 Technical Specialists from PRTC in ALYA's facility. The Puerto Rico state-owned Telephone Company was sold to a consortium led by GTE Corp. for approximately $2 billion in May 1998. Bell Atlantic Corp.
