Below is a letter from SirVinny to SI management. As I stated earlier in previous posts, SirVinny confirms the fact that it is impossible to deal with Gonorth and SirVinny admits he is frustrated to the point of resorting to explicit language,etc. Gonorth is the typical bully, the agitator who smiles at the teacher in class and pleads innocent. Then, he goes back to taunting all others, provokes an attack and then runs to the teacher again with his innocent plea for justice. It is very difficult for management to understand unless they read every message on this board daily. The guilty roam free and are supported by "SI Bob" who has called me a "cheerleader". The innocent are suspended and chastised by others for their attacks. In a case like this, it becomes necessary for management intervention since there are clearly no winners. The investors who want to discuss this stock are provoked to the point of retaliation or withdrawal from this board, all thanks to one poster who dominates this board and continues to harass every poster.

You recently approached me, together with many others I'm sure, to voice my
opinion on your new Beta
version of Silcon Investor.
Having tried several other boards including Raging Bull and Stockhouse, SI
is top of the class. Nothing else
even comes close. The ease of navigating through the various threads; the
ability to send Private Messages;
the personal Mailbox which alerts the member when posts are addressed to
him/her ; the Search features of SI
which are of obvious benefit. All of these and many more reasons are, in my
opinion, the reason why SI is
the best Stock Bulletin board on the Internet.
Having said this, the major problem with SI isn't the hardware, or should I
say the software, rather it is the
multitude of paid trashers which are rampant on many boards; and secondly,
the lack of action taken by SI's
adminstration, namely, Bob and Jill to limit the posts of the more flagrant
abusers.
Although hypsters can also be a problem, they are not abusive and offensive
of others and most investors
easily recognize them and will take everything they say with a grain of
salt.
Trashers, on the other hand, are rude, disrespectful, condescending,
deliberately misleading, constantly
negative, taunt others and mock investors who've lost money. Their presence
on the boards is not at all
conducive to the original intent of SI, which is "a forum for discussion and
respectful exchange of
opinions and insight on companies and stocks" . Instead, their presence,
whether intentional or
not, provokes anger.
Anger is the normal reaction of the honest investor who is constantly faced
with this abuse. This anger takes
the form of namecalling, threats, or simply abandonment of the board
altogether, which means non-renewal of
membership to SI. At times it gets to the extreme point where there no
longer is any discussion on the
thread. All that remains is the mudslinging and disgusting childish
schoolyard remarks.
My account was recently terminated because I chose to respond to these
trashers in their own language. Yes, I
did stoop down to their level but this was done only after the many futile
efforts by myself and many other
members on the thread to report the disturbances to SI Bob. There are many
members who simply stopped
posting on SI because of frustration due to your lack of action and openly
stated that they would not be
renewing their membership. These former members are now on RagingBull,
daily criticizing SI and calling
for an Ignore Button (which in my opinion is not the answer).

Until recently, I greatly contributed to the discussions. I would express
my honest opinion on a stock, both
my likes and dislikes. I always welcomed divergence of opinions. I've
expressed on several occasions that if
I can learn one kernel of knowledge from listening to someone else it would
be worthwhile.

Unfortunately, on the BIDS thread, the member GoNorth has made any type of
discussion impossible.
Members of the thread would often find themselves fighting against this
individual instead of engaging in
intelligent discussion with one another. The reason was quite simply
because any negative comment that we
would make, this individual would blow it out of proportion. He declares
not having a position on BIDS yet
he's been trashing talking this stock ever since it was at $1 and he
continued trashing it as it climbed to $30
CDN. The opinion of many on the thread is that he is not a shorter, rather
he is paid to trash the stock. His
pattern and behavior is obvious. He is careful as to his choice of words
which might infringe the Terms of
Use. He shows no emotion, unlike average investors who have their life's
earnings invested in the stocks. It
is as though he is trained to behave in that manner. As mentioned
previously, many have reported his subtle
harassment to SI Bob yet nothing has been done about it. Bob and Jill chose
to punish the victims of the
abuse rather than the instigator.
I kindly request that you look into this problem and render justice. I also invite you to communicate with other members (former
members) of BIDS and obtain their opinions.
