I've been involved with y2k testing at 2 major financial institutions and the reality I saw was not no problem at all. There are a lot of fools out there and their stupitidy/superstitions/religious beliefs may create a perception that is much different than reality. The opinion among basically every tech person I've met is that y2k is not a problem.
