I've been looking into Research in Motion, RIMM, and it is interesting. I had noticed their device from the Bell South offering. I can't say I am sure who easy it is to use, or useful though. I hate the idea of trying to type anything more than a sentence on such a little keyboard. Have you tried it?

I suppose the service has greatest benefit in that it's based on paging and probably very cheap to use. As you know, I'm still a fan of voice based messaging. It seems to be much more dynamic, but in the long run it would seem to need a graphic interface.

I think it will be very interesting to see what comes out of Wireless Knowledge. You have to wonder how much research they share with the partner companies Microsoft and Qualcomm.

But getting back to RIMM, it does seem like they have a place with the Blackberry product, but I still haven't seen where they intend to go in the future.

What do you think of this idea that you have 3 views to wireless net access and it's imprint on the net as a whole? One where you transform the net to do specialized content that is very application specific to cell phone users? Second where the net is expected to maintain it's rich content finding mobile devices that are more or less shrunken versions of high powered Desktop computers? Or the middle approach where a server takes all the internet data and massages it so that it is tranferred on a device specific basis, taking out content that can't be handled by the receiving device? Perhaps there's even a fourth version with the work being done on VoXML that would allow web content to be displayed in audio.

Regards,

Mark
