The opposite of hope is not regret as you would suggest but might more appropriately be despair. Nor is anger the opposite of dreams by any means. Here a better choice might be say wide awake, or grounded in reality. Over all I think the opposite relationship that you may be groping for here is that of a despairing realist upon looking at the facts as contrasted to say a hoper and a dreamer mired in a deep well of denial, blind to the mounting evidence.
