SI's Disclosure Policy... But I consider that if SI succumbs to a legal ruse and turns over the location of my house to agents of non-reporting bulletin board touts, it is compromising the physical security of my family and may very well be legally culpable for that action. I don't believe SI would do that. I'd like to think better of them. Brad and Jeff certainly never would have. If they would, wouldn't, have (!) or absolutely have not, they're not saying. One thing we do know: if they have revealed you without your permission or knowledge, they may not have told you because "time constraints" were in the way....(I'd like to send a tall tumbler of bile to the person who thought up that excuse.) The beta site looks good. But, sadly, when it comes to the most important improvement to this site, Silicon Investor refuses to come clean: Message 10419832 Message 10421223 Playing a CYA cat and mouse game is not respectful of the membership here. Nor it is deserved. Silicon Investor should clearly state that: 1. Silicon Investor will always make a reasonable effort to inform a member whenever SI has received a request for that member's information to which SI feels it must comply. (Unless legally prohibited from doing so) 2. Silicon Investor guarantees that its members will be given time to challenge any subpoena before SI feels that it must comply. (Again, unless under some direct legal restraint from doing so). SI could supply a profile option for those members that don't care whether their records have been subpoenaed or requested. For the rest of us, Silicon Investor should provide the privacy protections as SOP. Outside of a court order that prohibits SI from doing so, if there are other reasons why Silicon Investor feels it should be able to divulge member information without a member's knowledge, we should be informed. The management should state such reasons and define the circumstances clearly and openly. I invite SI's legal department to defend it's off-screen excuse of "time constraints" here or within whatever thread SI deems appropriate. If SI won't guarantee that it will protect membership information to the utmost of it's abilities, the management should offer responsible and open explanations. Regards, "Michelino"
