Luck lines were once a means of achievement. The idea was to put out a few lines here and there and once in awhile someone would pull on one.

This would be pre bowling alley of course.

One of these that occurred to me was some luck lines out from Qualcomm the only new certified gorilla in the past few years.

The most obvious one is Leap Wireless (LWIN) which was spun off from the Q last fall. FCC has just approved its plan to build a unique flat rate wireless phone system in parts of the US. Up until now, its major holdings are in countries which are on the edge economically - to put it mildly - except Chile.

A second is Sierra Wireless listed on the Toronto exchange which while extremely small is the leading wireless modem producer. Sierra Wireless has just picked up a license from the Q re the use of CDMA to transmit data on its modems. New and interesting.

No doubt there are others which lead out from the Q. Anyone have any additional candidates?

Know this is all pre bowling alley, but might be interesting to watch the move toward the bowling alley as these are very likely to do IMO.
