I think we're on common ground here: 1. Buy the company. 2.Take a long term view. 3. Buy what you understand. 4. Make the purchase when the point of entry is a GOOFS. I really appreciate that you challenge my assumptions on some other points. It forces me to re-examine my position(s). What I have concluded is that personal experiences shape perspective. My experiences cause me to be more cautious (the low p/e thing), and more diversified. I think I seek industries that have been depressed for a longer period time(?). With regard to chart-watching voodoo, I respectively disagree. I think its like prayer: the only scoffers are those who haven't suffered enough to give it an open-minded chance.
