If I'm understanding your question properly, the two independent heavyweights in supply-chain software are i2 and Manugisitics. Both have had their severe problems though I would place my bets on i2 as being the better of the two by a fairly significant margin.

Virtually all of the ERP players are getting into supply-chain software. I think there is a good possibility that this product niche might not produce a gorila. Or if one does emerge, it might be difficult to tell who it is if it's one of the ERP players.

Personally, I think there are far better hunting grounds when looking for gorillas than supply-chain software. Just my opinion.
