Cha2,

In all the discussions of EMC and NTAP et al here and on the sister G&K thread, on storage, Sun is conspicuous for its absence. Why?

Probably because you haven't spent enough time telling us about it. :)

The discussion of storage has been very in-depth when it comes to some of the targeted topics but less in-depth when it comes to laying out the whole picture. Sun is certainly a part of that bigger picture but has probably lost out because of increased attention being given to the #2 player, IBM, and their recent new initiative to regain lost market share. There has also been the discussion about HP dropping EMC and becoming more of a competitor than a partner. Sun really hasn't gotten much attention lately probably because there haven't been any earth-shaking, new developments that I know of.
