Ice, according to Allen all zip disks are the same -- the maxell zip disks I have look exactly like the Iomega disk that came with my drive with the exception of the label, and as far as I can tell work the same.

One thing that stands out to me is that by allowing Japanese companies
to sell zip disks (maxell) or manufacture zip disk drives (NEC) Iomega is aligning itself with companies that have the marketing savvy to succeed in Asia -- which has traditionally been difficult for non-Japanese companies. Any thoughts?

Oops, forgot about Joel.
