LOL cooking dinner at 11:30 AM in the Lone star state here in rural NE Tx the word "dinner" is used for the noon meal and/or the evening meal --- lunch or dinner can be/is the noon time meal supper or dinner can be/is the evening meal LOL and grinning from ear to ear ....that is me right now ----- when questioned about this seeming disparity of usage of the word "dinner" the best answer I've heard came from my old grand mother who passed away about 20 years ago, being nearly 90 at her demise --- anyway she told me one time when I asked how come dinner meant either of two mealtimes ---- sonny, iffen you cain't tell whut time a day it is ... how'n the dickens are you gonna git tu the table all on yer lonesum by yerself .... com'n eat the vittles and let som'un else wonder why boffum're called dinner ...... hehehehehe No disrespect meant to you .... I really want to thank you for bringing up the memory of that fabulous lady and my grand dad, too .... I spent many a warm and glorious day on their farm during summer vacations and lots of time in their house when he got too ill to farm and moved to town, just down the street from me ..... grand mother, bless her, taught me many lessons I still use daily now ....... hope I haven't bored the thread ... but I'm glad you revived some fond memories, John ..... sometimes, I lose sight of some valuable things while chasing my tail in this bustling world of the markets ......
