Hello John ... I thought of both you and Hal when I saw Bret building in the Gulf..... glad that Houston and most of the rest of the populated areas missed his arrival. Of course I was not too worried about it hitting here, as it is only 200 miles farther to Chicago for me that to Brownsville .... Texas is a pretty good size .... AND BEFORE someone chimes in about Alaska being larger ..... who really knows that it is ..... thaw that baby out and when the ice is gone it might be the size of Oklahoma ...... I laughed to myself when I heard the "puzzled sound" in the CNN anchor voices when they would report that the hurricane was touching land at the King Ranch ..... hell, you could tell they had not a clue the ranch is larger than several of the north eastern States ...... ggggggg I got the impression that they were wondering why this storm was even being called a hurricane and they were wasting their time reporting on it if all it could do was hit a little ranch down in south Texas ........ Have you seen the movie Paris, Texas Oh yeah ... the premier of it was even held here..... I thought it was a pretty bad movie as far as acting and plot was concerned, and the outdoor shots of the landscape was about as accurate as shooting ER or Chicago Hope in a barn. NE Texas around Paris is all trees and lakes and farms planted in grains ..... that movie appeared to have been shot in the badlands of New Mexico ..... Lake Crook is a classic name, that is for sure..... people are always wanting to know if it was a hole in the wall type of hide out for the bad guys in the days of the old west .... BTYW --- the upcoming Mrs America contest is to be televised later this month ... the contestant representing the Great State of Texas is from Paris ... she is very pretty but unfortunately, I don't know her personally ... The sunday dinner here at my household is usually held about 2 o'clock in the afternoon .... unless the Cowboys are playing ......ggggg Nemer
