I don't abuse the health system, but I have seen BS like you wouldn't believe..
Like people calling an ambulance for a headache.
Not to mention the doctors Xray everything, then bill OHIP (Ontario Helth plan) anywhere from $200 - $2000 per xray.
What, you have an ingrown toenail...better get an xray just to be safe
Oh yes, and every single pregnancy I have known about in the last 5 years, meaning friends, family, etc...
They go for their ultra sound....
Then mysteriously they all had the same dilemma
we need to get another ultrasound, because we think that your uterous may have dropped
What they should really say is
Everything is fine, but since we can bill OHIP another $1200 for a 2nd ultrasound, we're going to make this sound serious..now we can't tell you this pregnant lady, so you just be stressed out for the 7 days you have to wait
You should have seen the doctors tag teaming me at the hospital trying to convince me that my wife should have an epidermal...
Course ISOMAN had researched such a procedure for several weeks before hand and new that 1 in 20,000 die, 1 in 7000 are temporarily paralized..and that epidermals are now believed to cause asthma in the children..
So...ISOMAN hammered back..
IF you come within 4 inches of her spine with a needle, I will sue this hospitall for 500 million dollars..
They thought I was kidding...so I showed them the paperwork I had my lawyer fill out in advance.....
OH yeah, I'm paranoid...but....
A little healthy paranoia is good in this world...
