I think this post is what started the debate on SMS.... Message 11062505 The excerpt that I took from the article stated that CDMA only supports receiving text messages NOT sending them. Can anyone currently send a short message from their CDMA phone to another CDMA phone? This is what I was reffering to when I stated that SMS has not taken off in the US. This is supposedly a pretty valuable function in Finland (per the Wired article). If I understand engineer correctly, the CDMA carriers chose not to support SMS messaging due to the fact that the channel which supports it was likely to be overloaded. However when PCS finishes setting up their network with 3com (IWF?), they could handle a text message just like any other packet (both receiving and sending). Message 11069711 I guess we'll find out when PCS actually rolls out their network.... Slacker
