SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 1999--Majestic Companies Ltd. (OTCBB:MJXC) announced it's plan to embark on a cross country tour with their new type C yellow school bus completely outfitted with the SAFE-T-BAR(TM) Occupant Restraint System.
The bus interior will be set up with an educational multimedia center for presenting the merits and features of the SAFE-T-BAR to small groups. In addition, the bus will be equipped with an onboard video camera that will be up-linked to the company's Internet Web sites: www.safe-t-bar.com and www.themcl.com for broadcasting live interviews and updates of the SAFE-T-TOUR.
The SAFE-T-TOUR will help heighten public awareness for school bus safety. Every day more than 24,000,000 students ride to and from school onboard buses. The vast majority of these buses lack any type of safety restraint system. Current statistics show that over 10,000 injuries and an average of 11 student deaths occur every year on yellow school buses.
"The SAFE-T-TOUR will allow us to demonstrate the SAFE-T-BAR to parents, children, legislators and Pupil Transportation Officials across the nation. This exciting new program will add additional momentum to the growing group of industry professionals that already support the SAFE-T-BAR restraint system," commented Adrian Corbett, president of Majestic Transportation Products Ltd. The bus will be outfitted with seat designs that represent all of the major OEM bus manufacturers including Blue Bird, Thomas and AmTran.
After it's initial stop for display on the main floor of the upcoming "National Association of Pupil Transportation" conference and trade show in Denver, the SAFE-T-TOUR plans to visit all state capitols and major population centers.
