I sent HITK an E-Mail regarding the Product and the response is as follows:

This is a NEW product. It has been specifically formulated for cooking and baking. As a result, it is aspartame free. With cooking and baking, a major consideration is to provide a sweetener that is heat stabile.
DiabetiSweet "Measure for Measure" product is a synergistic mixture of two sugar substitutes accepted by the American Diabetic Association. It contains no inert ingredients, additives, preservatives or coloring agents.

The two sugar substitutes are:

Isomalt ? An odorless, white crystalline, low hygroscopic substance. It is manufactured by reducing sucrose into a disaccharide. The result is a mixture of the isomers 1-0-a-D- Glucopyranosyl D- sorbitol and 1-0-a-D-
Glucopyranosyl ?D-mannitol dihydrate. Isomalt is suitable for diabetics and has a 20-year history of safety. One gram of Isomalt = 1 calorie.

Acesulfame Potassium ? A colorless, white, odorless, crystalline powder with an intensely sweet taste (180-200 times sweeter than that of sucrose. It enhances flavor systems, masks some unpleasant tastes, and is heat stable.
Synergistic effects for the combinations of sweeteners have been documented.
Acesulfame is not metabolized and is rapidly excreted unchanged in the urine.

It is currently sold as an 8 oz. bulk product this is in addition to our 100-individual-packet box which also contains aspartame.

Sincerely,

Martin S. Knopf
