Hi Keith,

Cheese Grits, Now there's a mix of Mississippi Cultures! Cheese from one end and Grits from the other!!

My inventory turns in my taxable account are processed on a FIFO basis and reported that way to Uncle Sam. However, AIM's efforts are to compound LIFO gains during cyclical parts of the market price cycle.

The reason the core portion was purchased in the first place was not because we expected the core to remain at a slight loss or gain, but because we thought there was long term capital gain available. That is why we invested in the first place.

Your idea of using a theoretical core and just doing the "inventory adjustments" around that core would work as long as you didn't run out of shares. It also might be a way of building the core. As you know, AIM's "positive feedback loop" (remember your microphone being too close to the speaker?) will slowly increase the number of shares in the account if the price continues to cycle.

It's a good and valid question. Thanks for asking. Remember, we can always trade in and out of the market, but it's the core holding that we hope will turn out to be another MSFT or VTSS, etc. Without the core, those "starships" would never have gone into warp drive, Scotty.

Best regards, Tom
